BOGLE is Back (AGAIN)!!

Our annual Bogle tasting is always our largest tasting we do in our tasting room. The reason is simple. Bogle is one of the hottest brands in the country and especially in Carbondale. Every wine over delivers on quality at a great price, and we just love them all. Our Bogle friend, Ted Kiefer, will be here again to taste you through his wines, the best rack of wines so far. Oh yes, one more thing: PHANTOM IS BACK, too!!

This is the hottest pricing for Bogle wines we offer all year. BUT, we are going to offer you a chance to save even more. Purchase at least 1 case of Bogle from the tasting and you will receive 15% off any other non-sale wine or liquor item in the store. Thank you for making this tasting such a huge success.

Sauvignon Blanc Reg 9.99  Sale 6.99

Created in a classic style, Bogle's Sauvignon Blanc was cold fermented in 100% stainless steel tanks, using reductive winemaking practices, to maintain its varietal character: crisp, vibrant and refreshing. Notes of tropical gooseberry are paired with hints of green peppers, springs herbs and freshly cut grass. A touch of citrus fruit zest teases your mouth as well. Absolutely refreshing, the thick and round mouthfeel is well balanced with crisp acidity for a lasting and memorable finish.

Chardonnay    Reg 9.99  Sale 6.99

Bogle's Chardonnay has a little something for everyone: barrel fermentation, sur-lies aging, and partial malolactic fermentation. These hand-crafted processes create a rich and elegant wine with layers of complexity. Fresh tropical fruits like pineapple, mango and green apple greet both the nose and palate upon first sip, followed up by a touch of lemon cream. Complimented by more creamy notes of butterscotch and caramel, the wine has a long, lingering finish hinting of toasty oak. Enjoy this wine with just about everything!

Pinot Noir   Reg 11.99  Sale 8.99

Fruit from the cool confines of the Russian River Valley, from the coastal hills of Monterey and from the unique Clarksburg Delta combine to create a garnet-colored wine of complexity and finesse. Sweet wild strawberries and rustic mint. These hints of pine, bright berry and fresh herbs follow on the well-balanced palate, surrounded by soft suggestions of tea leaves and violets. Toasty vanilla winds itself throughout, wrapping around the finish: long, silky and elegant.

Essential Red    Reg 11.99  Sale 8.99

Just received an 89 pts Wine Enthusiast "Best Buy". A compelling blend of California's finest plantings of Old Vine Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, this wine surpasses all expectation for pure enjoyment. RICH, RIPE, LUSCIOUS AND JUICY!

Merlot  Reg 9.99  Sale 9.99

Our Merlot is another great example of the soft and silky wine that this varietal can be. Concentrated aromas of earthy spice and summer cherries surround the senses, while the first pleasant sip is a delightful wave of fresh red fruit and soft garden herbs. Mere hints of pipe tobacco and spicy oak lend depth to the finish, reinforced by firm, assertive tannins.Wine Spectator 88 pts "Best Value".

Petite Sirah   Reg 11.99   Sale 8.99

First produced in 1978 by the Bogle family, this Petite Sirah is considered Bogle's "heritage" varietal. On the nose, luscious boysenberry teases you along with touches of black pepper and herbs. Trademark inky and jammy tones fill the mouth with ripe fruit and berries. The voluptuous finish lingers with toasty oak and lush fruit. The firm tannins make this a wine that can develop for years to come, but you won't want to wait that long to enjoy it! Try this unique wine with rich meat dishes of lamb, pork or game and their hearty sauces.

Cabernet Sauvignon  Reg 11.99   Sale 8.99

CabernetSauvignon is a grape that takes its own sweet time, slowly lingering to ripen on the vine. We are rewarded by its reluctance. Ripe, bright cherries open up on the palate, with a hint of dried herbs and eucalyptus nestled among the fruit. Fourteen months in American barrels produced a well-integrated profile of spicy oak and rich tobacco. Firm but forgiving tannins leave a most welcome finish after each sip.

Old Vine Zinfandel   Reg 9.99  Sale 8.99

Head-trained, dry farmed old vines are again the source for Bogle's Old Vine Zinfandel. These gnarly old vines produce concentrated fruit of unsurpassed quality and intensity. This supple and mouth-filling vintage leads with juicy blueberry and ripe blackberry fruit. Black pepper and hints of chocolate notes integrate well with this soft, plush body. Subtle hints of spicy oak and pipe tobacco create structure, allowing this wine to stand up to a variety of fare. This is the perfect wine to pair with everything from rich sauces and unique dishes, to your favorite weeknight take-out. Just received an 89 pts Wine Enthusiast "Best Buy" also.

Phantom   Reg 19.99  Sale 15.99

This ruby red spectre entices with rich blackberry and briary boysenberry. Provocative dark fruits envelop the nose and palate, leaving the essence of flavors brought forth by the grapes during winemaking. Black cherry and anise abound, leading to a sturdy finish of black pepper, pipe tobacco and spicy oak. Aged for over two years in 1 and 2 year old American oak focus and intensify the Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Mourvèdre. Welcome the winery ghost into your home again with this latest vintage, and enjoy with full-flavored and hearty meals...before it vanishes again.

Petite Sirah Port (500ml btl) Reg 19.99  Sale 14.99

Bogle's unique Petite Sirah Port was sourced from the Old River Vineyard, directly across Elk Slough from the Bogle homestead. These 12 acres of Petite Sirah were planted in 1997 and have yielded exceptionally rich and jammy fruit, just perfect for the creation of Bogle's ruby-style port. This is always a hit at this tasting.
